The second round of the Carabao Cup concludes on Wednesday evening, with the seven teams competing in European competition entering the tournament in the last 32
Holders Liverpool will be among seven sides entering the Carabao Cup as the draw for the third round of competition takes place.
The Reds, who beat Chelsea in last season's final, are among English football's representatives in Europe, meaning they receive a bye until the last 32. But with the second round concluding last season's finalists, along with Manchester City, Arsenal, Aston Villa, Tottenham and Manchester United will enter the competition.
The 24/25 season sees a revised format in the Champions League, with more games being played and an increased strain on the domestic calendar. In turn, the Carabao Cup draw is changing with the six teams [Man City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Aston Villa, Man Utd and Tottenham] in Europe's top two competitions all unable to face each other.
They will be drawn separately to the other 26 teams, simply to determine whether they will be home or away. The first six teams pulled out of the main draw will then be their opponents, with the rest of the ties allotted in the traditional fashion.
It may sound a bit more complicated, but we will talk you through all of the details and provide live updates as they happen. The draw is expected to get underway at around 10.15pm, but join Mirror Football before for all the info you need to know...

McKenna left crushed by upset
Kieran McKenna has hailed Wimbledon after the League Two side beat his Premier League Ipswich in the second round of the Carabao Cup.
A stunned McKenna said: “We had the perfect start, but it was a disappointing night.
“All credit to Wimbledon, it is their night. We had 90% of the play but we did not defend two set plays well enough, and those two moments cost us.
“There are not too many positives to take out pf the night, but everyone knows what our priorities are this season.”

Nuno rues Forest's luck
Forest boss Nuno Espirito Santo has rued his side's luck having heavily practised penalties before their defeat to Newcastle.
He told Sky Sports: "It was a setback to concede in the first minute but the reaction was good. We had good spells against a good team.
"We had a lot of chances but not the final shot. The finishing was missing but overall good to see. We prepared but then it comes to the competition. We don't have too much time until we play again.
"It is important we realise we have solutions. We could be more balanced. But moving forward we have more options and solutions because we have a hard task ahead of us."

Howe relieved with win
Newcastle boss Eddie Howe has admitted his relief at their win against Nottingham Forest on penalties.
He told Sky Sports: "Shootouts are always a lottery, our lads dealt with that pressure really well and full credit to the lads keeping their composure.
"We practiced [penalties] yesterday, it is something we always prioritise - I was hoping we wouldn't need it. We had a great start, but we lost our way and recovered in the second half.
"We struggled with the ball at times and their shape was good and compact. We struggled to break them down and our off the ball shape wasn't as normal."

Newcastle tipped for home draw
Former Newcastle captain Kevin Nolan is keen for his old side to be handed a home tie in the next round.
Nolan told BBC Sport: "A tough night for Newcastle, but they have come through which is the main thing. They will look for a home draw, and the reception the fans gave Sandro Tonali was fantastic."

West Ham urged to take cup seriously
Former West Ham coach Kevin Nolan believes the new management regime at the Hammers should take the Carabao Cup seriously.

Matchwinner Longstaff keen to go far
Newcastle's matchwinner Sean Longstaff is keen for his side to go on a deep run in the Cup.
"Massive result for us and hopefully one that kickstarts our season. I love working with the manager every day. We want to be tough to beat this year and we got a good result tonight, we want to kick on," he told Sky Sports.
"It is massive. There's no European football this year so the cup competitions will play a massive part in our season. We want to go as far as we can. A home tie would not go amiss! Fingers crossed."

Wimbledon boss praying for dream Arsenal tie
Wimbledon manager Johnnie Jackson is hoping his side draw Arsenal away in tonight's draw. The Dons beat Premier League Ipswich on penalties tonight to book their place in the next round.
"The underdog story in football. It's another amazing night in another chapter in that story," he told BBC Sport.
"We always have to do it the hard way as a football club, but we find a way. It was a terrible start. We spoke about not giving them anything soft, if they pick you off or score a worldie - you live with that. We didn't want to give a soft one away which is exactly what we have done.
"It could have ended up being an easy night for Ipswich if we folded. I wouldn't mind the Gunners away."
